Located at the southern tip of the African continent is a diverse and fascinating region. South Africa contains nine natural biomes, ranging from desert in the west to evergreen forest in the east. Dominated by a central plateau, the region has no navigable rivers. The South Africa outdoor, lagoon-like exhibit represents both plants and animals from this area.
