Albert, the Harpy Eagle meets the two-footed hunters is our Book of the Month. It is written by Pat Alvarado, a native of Louisiana who now lives in Panama. After a 30-year teaching career, she now dedicates her time to writing bilingual children’s stories. The illustrator is Andrea Alvarado, who was born in Panama but now resides in Canada.
Albert, a juvenile Harpy eagle lives in Panama’s tropical rainforest and tells his story about how he has to use his wits to survive when he meets up with the two-footed hunters. Albert lives with his mom and little brother Arthur high above the canopy in the rainforest and helps take care of his little brother since their father disappeared – probably at the hands of the hunters. Albert is always creating turmoil due to his insatiable hunger. The book contains information about the daily life of the Harpy Eagle, which is an endangered species.
This 33-page book is great for all children, young and old and the illustrations are very appropriate. Albert, the Harpy Eagle meets the two-footed hunters sells for $16.99 in our Book Store and as always, members receive a discount of 10%.
